Cost of Studying in the Czech Republic

“There is no such thing as a free lunch” aptly applies to the international students going for studying in the Czech Republic. At public institutes, you’re not going to pay the tuition fees, but that is not the only to think of. One should consider the general cost of living, including accommodation price, food, travel, entertainment, communication (phone and internet). No doubt, it’s not so high. However, at iOverseas, we believe one should be aware of the budget before moving abroad to study. We even consider your liking or dislike, such as do you prefer to live in student accommodations, share a room, and are you ready for part-time work? Based on it, we give a cost estimate for studying in Czechia.

Tuition Fees

The following tuition fees apply to international students only as they will pursue studies in a language other than Czech. Moreover, it may vary with the course and university you choose to study.

Living Expenses

The good news is Czechia offers to live in a significantly affordable way than any other common European study destination. So, studying in the Czech Republic is surely an affordable option for international students.

Following is an average estimated cost of living per month in CZK (Czech Koruna):

Accommodation: 3,000

Groceries and Food: 1,500

Phone and Internet: 500

Transportation: 250

Miscellaneous: 750

Total: 6,000

Considering 1 CZK = 3.5 INR, your total monthly living expenses end up to Rs. 21,000/-.

Moreover, as an international student, you can also work for 20 hours per week while studying. A typical rate for a part-time job in the Czech Republic is around 140 CZK (490 INR) per hour for administrative work. It means that you can get 11,200 CZK per month. That’s 39,200 INR.
